Right back at ya with another Cosplay Gem! This time around It’s the ultra talented and a definite PYT BabyQuinn (pretty young thang if you didn’t know). This Georgia peach is not only a kick-ass Cosplayer she’s also running a Cosplay inspired make-up tutorial channel on Youtube that has serious potential. Soooooo let’s set it off!!!
What is the Cosplay scene like in Georgia?
The Cosplay scene in Georgia is VERY diverse! Anyone can cosplay who they want, no matter size, height, skin tone , or age. The cosplay scene is growing rapidly and is gaining more members each day.
What got you into the art of Cosplay?
Generally my interest in the video game / anime community began my interest in cosplay. I had always loved dressing up for any occasion, as my favorite holiday is Halloween. When I made my first cosplay I was so proud of myself and felt like this was only the beginning.
Who are your favorite characters to Cosplay?
My favorite characters to cosplay are ladybug from miraculous ladybug, Harley Quinn, Hatsune Miku, and various other characters I hope to cosplay in the future.
Can you tell me what it took to make this particular design? (Time, cost, materials, etc)
My ladybug cosplay I actually had customed for myself for about 40$ and the wig was about 28$. However I have other cosplays and props that have costed me less than 10$, thrift stores are the best! It’s always important to remember either store bought or handmade, cosplay is cosplay as long as it makes you happy!
Who/What is your biggest inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is my mother, who was there for me through it all. She was there when I revived my first cosplay wig, and was always willing to support me and all my interests. If it wasn’t for her encouraging me to do what I loved I wouldn’t be here right now.
What are the Biggest cons in Georgia right now?
The biggest cons are mainly Comi-con,Sakura con, anime expo, and many others! Too many to count on my end.
Which one is your favorite?
My favorite convention is Momocon! A convention for all fandoms and family friendly. Everyone there is so accepting.
What is your favorite cosplay moment?
.My favorite cosplay moment is when a child runs up to hug you. It’s so inspiring to have a child believe you are the real character! It warms my heart, and keeps me doing what I do.
What is your cosplay horror story?
A cosplay horror story specifically of mine, is having my makeup melt right off my face because it was so hot out. I looked like a Picasso painting! Big yikes moment.
Where do you see the art of Cosplay in the next 5-10 years?
I see the art of cosplay even bigger and better. Hopefully more accepting and diverse as well! As a plus size cosplayer it can be hard to build up the courage to go to cons and see others compared to you. I hope to have that changed one day. We all are the same, human and we all love cosplay! So let’s just enjoy it without judgement.WR
