Interview with a Cosplayer- Titch Cosplay

Hey! I know we said only once a week but we’re bursting at the seems with so much cosplay goodness we felt that twice a week would be better for all parties involved. With that said let’s take a trip to Australia just in time for the mega epic OZCC where you might just run into the super sexy and super skilled Titch Cosplay! She claims she’s new to the cosplay game, but she’s definitely fooled me with what she’s working on. So sit back, relax but don’t get too comfortable. With OZCC 2017 set to go off this weekend she won’t be in the same place for too long.

What is the cosplay scene like in Australia?

Before I got into cosplay I didn’t know a single person that cosplayed and since I started in November last year it’s like an ever growing community here, we all know someone that cosplays and it’s just amazing.

What got you into the art of Cosplay?

Well I was meant to go to the Madman anime festival last year and couldn’t because I was in hospital so I asked people to send me pics of people cosplaying as some of my fav characters. One girl sent me pics and she is now my best friend and she invited me along to one of her events and ever since then I can get enough of it.

Who are your favorite characters to Cosplay?

Titch cosplay
Future Predator?

So far my favorite character is Erza from fairy tail but I’m currently making a Predator one that I’m sure will end up being my favorite one.

Can you tell me what it took to make this particular design? (Time, cost, materials, etc)

well my Predator one has been the most complex so far. As for materials I have used mostly EVA foam for all the Titch cosplayarmor and for his dreads I used Gap Filler Rod. I started making it at the start of April this year and it’s finally nearly finished. All up I’d say it’s cost around $150 including any paint I used.

Who/What is your biggest inspiration?

Ummm not sure I have one but this one cosplay “hoyzacoz” (that’s his Instagram) is so amazing. He has been helping me with so much and just his skills alone are amazing. I’d say he is my inspiration.

What are the Biggest cons in (where you live) right now?

Right now our next con is Oz Comic Con and it’s one of the biggest here in Australia.

Which one is your favorite?

Well I have only been to Supanova so I don’t have much to compare it to but I think any con will end up being amazing and each one will have something different that will keep things exciting.

What is your favorite cosplay moment?

Definitely when little kids know who you are and call you by the characters name it’s just so heart warming to know you made that little kid smile and they may remember that moment for a long time.

What is your cosplay horror story?

I don’t have one just yet. Maybe ask me next year when I have been to more cons.

Where do you see the art of cosplay in the next 5-10 years?

Well I’m hoping to have a lot more experience and my dream is to travel over seas to experience cons at different countries. That’s my goal. WR
