What is the Cosplay scene like in Orlando?
In Orlando cosplay is very diverse. There is events and places I could go to and cosplay every weekend if I wanted to. So overall I’m very satisfied and there are a lot of possibilities for everyone.
What got you into the art of Cosplay?
I have always dressed up and it was easy transition to go into cosplay. I was raised as an only child so cosplay was always my outlet and a way to make friends and a way of self-expression.
Who are your favorite characters to Cosplay?
Batgirl, Supergirl, and Jesse quick from the CW TV show
Can you tell me what it took to make this particular design? (Time, cost, materials, etc)
The longest design was for my Tron outfit. I had to find to builders to work on it and although it only took about four weeks, it was double time of labor for both people involved in making the costume. WayneGetsItDone and NerdyMommas worked with me really hard to have the costume ready by MegaCon Orlando.
Who/What is your biggest inspiration?
Charity work is my biggest inspiration I am lucky to work with the MUCH Foundation and Costumers with a Cause. Helping children with terminally illnesses achieve a better life through my cosplay work inspires me everyday. I love seeing the children’s faces light up with excitement when they see me.
What are the Biggest cons in Orlando right now?
Megacon Orlando, Supercon, and Tampa Bay Comic Con
Which one is your favorite?
What is your cosplay horror story?
Rarely, but occasionally I have gotten somewhat harassed. Its important for everyone speak up if that happens and always explain to people about your boundaries.
Where do you see the art of Cosplay in the next 5-10 years?
I think we are going larger and more global with cosplay. This a worldwide phenomena that is becoming a part of culture as a whole.WR
