Interview With a Cosplayer- RabbitGirl Parker

Interview With a Cosplayer is back and we had to blow the dust of the Passport and head down to the Capitol of Guatemala, Guatemala City to chat with the amazing RabbitGirl Parker. At 22 she’s a pure artist through and through. When she isnt putting beautiful artwork together on paper she’s putting together stunningly accurate Cosplay designs and is really representing her nation well! And when she’s done totally blowing your mind with her reality bending cosplay she can use her skills as a Clinical Psychologist to get your mind back right. What cant this girl do?!? With talent like hers she’s destined to leave a mark in the Cosplay game. Please give RabbitGirl Parker you full attention. It’ll be a wise move on your part.

What is the Cosplay scene like in Guatemala?

Well, I wish it was nicer but where I live what matters most is who is your friend and not who has talent. Many times I’ve seen people hating someone else just for being good at what they do.

What got you into the art of Cosplay?

Honestly, I would say that my brother haha. He showed me a picture of Jessica Nigri and that’s when I decided to do cosplay 🙂

Who are your favorite characters to Cosplay?

RabbitGirl Parker

My favorite so far is Chun Li. However I loved being Kenshin Himura and Hisako. They are just comfy and have so much presence.

Can you tell me what it took to make this particular design? (Time, cost, materials, etc)

RabbitGirl Parker

For Chun Li, its hard to determine as I worked on Her for like two months and then released it. Right after I got inspired by a friend and decided to improve her. The main improvement is the dragon on The belt as this was handmade by me.

Who/What is your biggest inspiration?

Tough one, but I would say that Vichun and Azulette. Other than that, and as close influence, I would say that Mad Vash Cosplay and my brother.

What are the Biggest cons in Guatemala right now?

We only have a big one, that is the XPO Comicon in Guatemala.

What are you in to right now?

The last anime I watched was Trigun. Loved it so bad. Also, currently playing the resident evil saga and I’m reading Oscar Wilde’s the Picture of Dorian Grey.

What is your favorite cosplay moment?

My favorite cosplay moment is when Enji Night Came all the way over to me and Mad Vash and said that she loved my cosplay (wonder woman) and then said “muy bonita ” which is “really pretty ” in spanish.

What is your cosplay horror story?

My horror story is when I was wearing my Hisako cosplay (proud to be the first Hisako in Guatemala ) and a little girl came over to me, hugged me and called me mommy 😱😱😱😱😱😱.

Where do you see the art of Cosplay in the next 5-10 years?

I hope it gets more honest and supportive, as we are a small community and this is a beautiful art that challenges you, all for the love you feel for your favorite video game, anime, book or comic character.WR
